Served as outside counsel and, later, Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, to Lawrence Companies, Inc., an employee-owned company (and its 12 subsidiaries / lines of business) with operations in Virginia and North Carolina that provides:
household goods moving services
truckload, final (last) mile, and heavy-haul freight transportation services
commercial and industrial warehousing services
corporate and individual relocation services
data management and storage services
industrial shredding services
heavy industrial and agricultural equipment sales and leasing
heavy vehicle customization and up-fitting services
custom building services for van trailers and utility vehicles
waste management and container services
From 2016 to 2018, provided sole-representation in over $48MM in business, real estate, licensing, and private lending transactions.
In 2014, was retained by a renewable energy startup to provide representation in the Caribbean Basin, which included meeting with state and local government officials and community business leaders to negotiate the development and construction of a $150MM municipal solid waste-to-energy power plant.
Successfully represented restaurant owners and non-profits before the the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to obtain retail and banquet alcohol licenses for business operations and public events.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Worked for a San Francisco-based startup and negotiated the purchase and sale of capital assets from companies located in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Founded and solely-operated an online, boutique retail sales startup during final semester of law school, which generated a 200% ROI.
